The special exhibition was inaugurated in a lively atmosphere with children from Yisheng Elementary School in Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, performing traditional Atayal songs and playing bamboo instruments. On the opening day, the public and guests were invited to watch highlights from Taiwan’s first documentary on the promotion and practical aspects of Moso bamboo forest management, giving the audience a sense of being right there in the forest. Viewers could observe the planning, preparation, machinery operation, and the skilled techniques and experience of bamboo workers during the forest renewal process. This was followed by guided tours of the documentary special exhibition by Huiyo Re-Creation, a local youth regeneration team from Taoyuan, the Fuxing Moso Bamboo Industry Development Association, and NCU’s Sustainable ‘Revitalization’ – Smart and Resilient Tribal Development USR project team, showcasing the contemporary development of the bamboo industry. The event also allowed guests, along with Yisheng Elementary School teachers and students, to participate in making bamboo pinwheels and to enjoy traditional Atayal-style bamboo rice from the Kapu Tribe. It provided a full experience, from bamboo forest management to the development of the forest economy.
