The connection between the National Central University College of Engineering team and the Fuxing District in Taoyuan City actually stems from the distinction between “resilience” and “robustness.” Compared to resource-rich urban areas, the mountainous Fuxing region, which faces higher risks of disaster impacts, has always been a focus for planning and collaboration by the NCU team. The key factor that has shaped this vision is the university social responsibility program that the Ministry of Education has been actively promoting in recent years. The responsibility mentioned here is not one of superiority, but rather a creative responsibility.
