In the course of implementation of this scheme, we discovered that the pressing problem that prompts for solution is the development of bamboo industry in modern time was regulated by the prohibition of bamboo lumbering under law, and the limitation of land use except the influence of the industry and market factors in the 1980s.

After the discussion with local partners under this scheme, we combined the academic perspective and the practical experience in the field and proceeded with policy advocacy through the participation in meetings of the public sector and writing of commentary in an attempt to alert the public and related government institutions of the issue and urge for their concerns to amend related policies, and further extend the goal of sustainable development to mountain and forest, upgrading of the bamboo industry and the development of peripheral business. As the consultant of Bamboo Forest Administration of the Forestry Bureau, the planning of “Taiwan Bamboo Business Documentary” by Migratory Creation, and provide the local issues discovered by the task force in Fuxing District with solutions at the “Bamboo Forest Exhibition” held at Mount Dongyan, and launch for the development of the bamboo industry in Fuxing District in joint effort.
