To extend environmental education to the mountainous areas, our team has partnered with San Guang Elementary School to organize three-day sustainable environment education camps during the winter and summer breaks. Students from Central University’s Departments of Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and the College of Engineering will apply their expertise to collaborate with San Guang Elementary’s existing facilities. They will construct an aquaponics system and a disaster preparedness community map, while designing educational programs covering topics such as the principles of aquaponics, water and environmental conservation, and disaster preparedness awareness.
