International Exchange Activities

Building on a comprehensive understanding of the domestic bamboo industry, our team has actively engaged with local organizations focused on carbon reduction, carbon rights, and carbon sinks, including the Department of Forestry at National Taiwan University, the Agricultural Research Institute, and the Forest Research Institute. These visits were designed to gain insights into domestic perspectives on carbon reduction issues and the direction of related policy initiatives.

In August 2024, eight members of the project team, accompanied by three local partners from the Fuxing District, traveled to Ritsumeikan University in Japan to delve into the implementation of the Kameoka Carbon Reduction Project. This visit provided valuable insights into successful practices that can guide Taiwan in integrating government, industry, financial institutions, and farmers to foster community participation in reducing carbon emissions while simultaneously promoting local industry development.

By observing the Kameoka Carbon Reduction Project and other local revitalization initiatives in Japan, our team members were inspired to generate innovative ideas for future planning. Additionally, this experience opened up opportunities to promote the Fuxing District’s bamboo industry on an international scale, paving the way for cross-border exchanges.
