NCU’s Sustainable ‘Revitalization’ – The USR team for Smart and Resilient Tribal Development is promoting the weaving culture and craftsmanship of the Atayal tribe in collaboration with Taoyuan Municipal Luofu High School by establishing a weaving club at the school. To provide better learning equipment for the students, a ‘Belt Loom Donation Ceremony’ was held on September 27. Dean Hsiao Shu-San of NCU’s College of Engineering presented 30 belt looms on behalf of the university. After the ceremony, he and Luofu High School Principal Chiu Jia-Tseng interacted with students enrolled in the weaving course, gaining insights into the students’ experiences and deepening their understanding of the Atayal weaving culture.
