In 2019, in my role as Dean of the College of Engineering, I led a team into Fuxing District in Taoyuan. We carefully assessed and built upon the university’s strengths—spanning disaster prevention, energy, and environmental research—while also incorporating scholars from sociology and philosophy. This interdisciplinary collaboration enabled us to examine our initiatives through diverse perspectives and to engage with the community with a deeper sense of humility.
