In the implementation process of this scheme, we also worked in collaboration with the junior high schools and primary schools in Fuxing District. Through STEM education, professional knowledge in university will be merged with the curriculum of the schools in the locality and cross-disciplinary practical work on specific topics could be developed. This also helps the university to train talents. University students are encouraged to apply with Sinyi Real Estate in the national community building action plan, Peace Designer Service Program, and other off campus proposal and competition to combine their expertise knowledge to develop the capacity in project planning and execution experience. Through the courses of “special topic” at the university end in combination with the real world problem of the rural context, we could research and develop related teaching materials that could be sustainable in using for the long-term development of local talents, and build up sustainability and continuity of learning.
