Through the demonstration of food agriculture education this time, I suggested that this is a very meaningful event for the children. They can learn about how an aquaponics system operates, as well as learn about different plants and herbal medicine. They can also enjoy the exotic foods prepared with different kinds of herbal medicine. This was the first time that I had seen such a large-scale aquaponics system that made my eyes wide open. Miss Chen, Yi-Ching of Youxiayun is very enthusiastic. She explained to us in full detail. We could feel her love and pride in this farm that was created by her own hands.

We learned a lot about herbal medicine that day. Then we know that many plants we come across in our daily lives are indeed herbal medicine. We had no idea about that before. She prepared a very delicious lunch for us and let us try the special taste of food with herbal medicine. The leaders of the camp will have to take the children to get experience in the field. We expect we will do our best to rectify the problems discovered in this demonstration camp so that the children can have a better experience. They can learn more while playing and make the camp a fruitful one.

The aquaponics education camp was supposed to complete in last semester but postponed to present moment because of the pandemic. We have prepared for this properly and it was a success. We were pleased. Yet, this is just the beginning. In the future, this kind of event will be held at regular intervals.

As an integral part of the organizer of this demonstration camp, we learned a lot from the preparatory process, and discovered that there are many for improvement. For example, the facility in the field is not as we expected and we have to design the whole process once again. The water tank is too high, which makes it difficult for the children to wash the vegetables. Or, the seasoning in cooking could be adjusted. In addition, in the review meeting after the event, we had feedback from other co-organizers and the juniors of NCU who participated in the simulation.

I believe that with our endeavor in making adjustment, this event could be better and better, and serve the purpose of our design of this event. The children could have fun while learning, and learn more about food agriculture and aquaponics.
