It was a warm and sunny day in Winter. The long and winding mountain trail leads us to the Tourist Center at Little Wulai Special Scenic Zone in a valley and down the stream and Yisheng Activity Center. This is the first day of the BTLS certification training course. I was enchanted by the surrounding scenic spots, particularly the Taiya wall painting, soon after alighting from the car. The building of the activity center is glamorous and the sunlight from the back of the building highlighted the whole thing. I was so refreshed by a mountain in my surroundings. It seems that I was inside a beautiful painting. I took my camera and searched high and low before the course started. I totally succumbed to such a beautiful morning filled with phytoncide. This was my first time to join the event of Fuxing Reporter Team, and was excited and was longing for the day to come. ”

The course started at 10 am. Those who have registered for the course have arrived on time. They came from different backgrounds. Some were pastors in the nearby churches. Some were the staff of the school and there were many residents of the community, and also old friends of mbhoyaw “Fuxing”. I went back and forth in the crowd before it started, and assisted them to set up the place. I was stopped by the greeting of some friends in the event while I was busy. They passionately said, “I am a loyal supporter of all the event you organized”. This kind of warm greeting made me feel the strong bonding between NCU and the local community cultivated in this year. I was very happy as I could be a member of this task force.

The teacher of the Chinese Emergency Medicine Educator Association started to introduce the importance of the basic skills in BTLS that unveiled the event of the day. Fuxing District is located in the mountain. The teacher emphasized that it may take more than half an hour for an ambulance in response to a call if an accident occurred. The skills that the trainees learned today will be critical for saving lives. Then, the teacher asked the trainees to team up in groups of 2 and released the first aid bandage. Under the supervision of the teacher, the trainees played the role of the wounded in the drill and started to practice wound dressing with the other partners of the group. The humorous talk of the teacher always resulted in laughter, which made the training a very happy time.

At lunch time, we have the lunch box prepared by the organizer and also the delicious food prepared by Miss Chen, the former teacher of the food agriculture program. The trainees shared with each other their insights from the training while enjoying their lunch. Then, the pastor recalled the time of online education at the apex of the pandemic infection. He exclaimed that learning with practice in this manner will make you feel solid and comfortable. The talks at the lunch table included the well for leading the hot spring on the side of the Yisheng Activity Center was in the digging process. A newly developed hot spring will come into being soon in addition to the Luo Foo Hot Spring. People are expecting what it will look like after the work is finished.

The teacher continued the content in the afternoon session and made a little adjustment on the mode of acceptance. The teacher asked all trainees to team up into 2 groups, and the 2 groups will compete with each other in dressing with bandage. The groups who could finished a greater number of dressing in a greater variety of the methods applied in 3 minutes will be the winner. In this training, all have demonstrated the team spirit. They can do bandage dressing so well with a lot of joy in the process.

The day ended so quickly amid joy and pleasure. In the world of the camera lens, I feel that the friends of Fuxing District valued so much about this event. They are so serious in learning with positive attitude. The interaction between the trainees and the teacher showed their enthusiasm and indulgence in the training. This was my first time to went up the mountain with the task force. I deeply feel the warmth and liveliness of Fuxing. I wish I could be a part of this kind of events in the future, to know more about this enchanted place.
