For the advocacy cross-disciplinary combination between digital technology and traditional weaving skills, we worked in cooperation with Chieh Shou Junior High School (now the junior high school section of Luo Foo Senior High School) and master Wang, Hsiu-Ling under this scheme and organized the weaving learning camp in joint effort. Students of NCU learned weaving skill from master Liang, Hsiu-Chuen (Iwal Buru) Workshop of Taiya, and established the “”Weaving Taiya – The culture and practice of Taiya Weaving) as a voluntary learning micro course on campus for the promotion of Taiya weaving.

After the merging of Chieh Shou Junior High School into Luo Foo Senior High School, we will continue to advocate the establishment of social clubs in junior and senior high schools on weaving under this scheme, and supervise the independent operation of the social clubs. The students at NCU will make improvement of the self-made belt weaving machine as gift for Luo Foo Senior High School. Software for weaving simulator has also been developed to combine with traditional weaving culture and modern technology to form cross-disciplinary cooperation of weaving by program and make it an integral part of teaching.

We will continue to supervise the operation of the weaving clubs in schools and organize off campus visit to Wulai in New Taipei, Wufeng in Hsinchu to experience the harvest of ramie, weaving belt, traditional ground weaving, botanical dying skills to understand the complete process of traditional Taiya weaving, and bring the seedling of ramie to the university for restoration. Restoration and application experience of ramie is the theme. The students of the task force supervise the teachers and students of the weaving clubs to apply with Sinyi Real Estate in the national community building program. They won the model award. The students will continue to make improvement of the fiber crop processor, and ground weaving machine to make weaving machine a modern kind of tool and easy to promote.
